Health Insurance Benefits

The term health insurance is generally used to describe a form of insurance that pays for medical expenses. It is sometimes used more broadly to include insurance covering disability or long-term nursing or custodial care needs. Medical insurance add-on benefit will entitle you to cash benefits for every completed day of hospitalisation, which helps you take care of the increased financial burden incurred at the time of hospitalisation, such as loss of earnings away from work, and other expenses. Family Health protects you and your family (spouse and up to 3 dependent children) under a single policy.

In case of hospitalisation due to illness or accident, you and your family can avail of cashless hospitalisation facility (subject to exclusions and conditions). Health insurance works by estimating the overall risk of healthcare expenses and developing a routine finance structure (such as a monthly premium or annual tax) that will ensure that money is available to pay for the healthcare benefits specified in the insurance agreement. Long-term Disability Insurance (LTDI) pays a monthly benefit until you reach normal retirement age. You can then begin drawing your regular WRS retirement annuity.
